Before and After

Here's the latest off the workbench...
a lovely old armchair whose proper title I don't know. It came to me minus the arms/legs as the client was restoring them himself.
I did the upholstery, which used a Warwick fabric called Nissa (colour 'Cloud') from the Nordic collection.

The latest Wingchair

Here's the latest off the workbench. It's covered in a few fabrics from Warwick's Anthropology range (one of my favourites!).
It's for sale ($1,750), and will be at the Old Bus Depot Market in Canberra this Sunday (Jan 13th).

HAPPY NEW YEAR! .....

.... to you all,
and thanks for reading/following this blog - it's great to have you along.

Here's the latest batch of baby ottos - these ones are covered in the most fantastically-coloured commercial vinyl ('Lustrell' from Warwick). The colours are just so vibrant and luscious so, following the suggestion of one of my Facebook followers, they're being called "Smartie-Ottos".

These are off to the Old Bus Depot Market in Canberra on Sunday 13th January (they're $130.00 each).

Hamptons Style

Who said Rapt! couldn't do 'conventional'?
Bah to them, and please check out this pair of well-loved antique wing chairs recently transformed into 'Hamptons Chic' by the magic wand. They're now ensconsed back in their Jamberoo home, either side of the fireplace, and ready for another 20 years of peace and quiet (before the next makeover).

Hard at work

Miss Snupeson just never lets up in her tireless pursuit of excellence.
Here she is quality testing some flocking removed from an old chair.

Market Update

Rapt! had its most successful outing yet on Sunday 18th November to the Old Bus Depot Market at Kingston, in Canberra.

Here are a few pics of the day (and yes, that is me on the left, sporting a new do).

The story of who bought the Storyteller Wingchair (front left of this pic), is a good one which I'll save for another post.
Here's what the 2 little vintage oval ottos in the mid foreground of above pic looked like last week:

There were a few brand new products on the stall which don't show up in these photos, so here are some shots of them back at Bottoms' End before loading. This new upcycled coffee-table-stool, covered in an original Florence Broadhurst design (Ikeda) on pure linen, sold quickly to a lovely girl who told me she already owns this design in not one but 2 t-shirts! I do hope she's going to send me a pic of her sitting on this wearing one.

Next Old Bus Depot Market outing for Rapt! will be January 13th next year. (We've got so much commissioned work to do we're skipping the previously promoted December market.)

The Plank

This recently conceived, designed, made and sold stool all started with a piece of beautiful French linen and a plank of pine.
Here's the story in pics:
